A new ICOS study has shown a reduction of CO2 emission during the Covid-19 lockdown

This study compares CO2 fluxes from 8 measurement towers in European cities between the lockdown and data from the previous years. Previously, in the URCLIM project, the urban climate model TEB was improved to be able to simulate the CO2 fluxes using the previous years measurements of one of these towers, in Kumpula, Helsinki, Finland. This opens opportunities to develop future CO2-emission related Urban Climate Services.
